Welcome to The Rock Community Mental Health Association
At RCMHA, we are dedicated to addressing mental health challenges, particularly drug, cigarette, and alcohol abuse, in our communities. Established in October 2019 as a faith-based, non-profit organization in Bamenda, Northwest Region of Cameroon, we provide psychosocial support, education, and treatment to help individuals regain their lives and become productive members of society.
Drug and substance abuse is a growing crisis in Cameroon, exacerbated by conflicts like the Anglophone crisis, refugee influx from Central African Republic, and Boko Haram insurgency. According to WHO data from 2018, drug abuse accounts for 0.32% of total deaths in Cameroon, ranking the country 16th worldwide. Our programs focus on awareness, recovery, and well-being to combat stigma and discrimination.
We’d love to hear from you! Whether you need support, want to volunteer, or have questions about our programs, reach out using the details below.

Group therapy for drug abuse is a type of therapy where people struggling with addiction come together to share experiences, challenges, and support one another in a safe and confidential setting.
It's led by a trained therapist, and the group dynamic helps individuals:
- Realize they're not alone in their struggles
- Learn from others' experiences and perspectives
- Develop coping skills and strategies
- Build a support network
Group therapy can be super helpful for people dealing with addiction, as it provides a sense of community and accountability
It's when a healthcare professional visits a patient at their home to provide medical care or support
During a home visit, the healthcare pro might:
- Assess the patient's condition
- Provide treatment or therapy
- Offer health education and guidance
- Help with medication management
It's all about bringing quality care to the patient's doorstep.
It's an event or workshop designed for couples to strengthen their relationship, communication, and connection 💯
These seminars often cover topics like:
- Communication skills
- Conflict resolution
- Building intimacy and trust
- Managing stress and expectations
- Reigniting romance and passion

Overcame Tramadol Addiction
Yo, RCMHA straight-up saved my life! I was popping 750mg of tramadol daily for 4 years, feeling like a zombie. Their detox program and psychosocial therapy were game-changers—chill sessions that helped me unpack the trauma from the Anglophone crisis. Now I'm clean, energized, and back to chasing my dreams. These folks are legends; if you're struggling, hit them up. 5/5 stars! #RecoveryRockstars

Youth Counseling for Substance Abuse
School was wild with all the peer pressure—started with cigs and whiskey, ended up on tramadol and fighter. RCMHA's youth counseling at my high school (shoutout St. Frederick!) opened my eyes. Their awareness talks and one-on-one chats helped me quit cold turkey. Feeling fresh, focused, and ready to crush uni. These peeps are the real MVPs for us young guns. 🔥🔥🔥

Marriage was hitting rock bottom—stress from the refugee crisis had me depressed and distant. RCMHA's marital counseling seminar at the church was fire! We learned about communication and trust, plus got depression management tools. Now our relationship is stronger than ever, and I'm off the edge. Compassionate, no-judgment zone. If your love life's glitching, this is the fix. 5 stars all day!
